Not a Bug Diamond sword vanishes after right clicking

I was strolling down a road heading to help my noob friend in pvp when I right clicked my diamond sword and it disappeared. I tried to put a pick in the same spot and to see if it had just glitched out and to no avail the sword didn't come back.

I thought about it for a while and just pushed it off as to me accidentally dropping it and it disappeared. I decided to go to spawn and invest in a 400c sword in the global market and as soon as I right clicked with it, it disappeared. Out 400c :( It was a diamond sword and enchanted with sharpness 4 and kickback 2.

What profession and combat class are you? Tools/Weapons are restricted.
