Bug Custom skins only showing in central, everywhere else everyone is 'Steve'

I know this is not the right section for this thread but I could not find a issues section to post in.


My problem is that people skins do not show up when I'm in the server, except when I'm in central.

I don't know what other info I could give, also if there is a quick fix it would be greatly appreciated.

I have had a similar problem, but only when in a party. Joining a party seems to kill my and my friends skins.

I remember this was from people's names becoming bold, and if they have a long name it gets cut off. Minecraft doesn't recognize the cutoff name, so it results in a Steve skin.

That makes sense and is close to what I figured. Thought it was funny. My friend uses a Zelda skin and she suddenly turns into Steve... Would be a rude awakening on a date...

Hmm, it's just strange.

Yeh fact that everyone's skin is 'Steve' except in central where peoples custom skins show up for me. There is no logical reason for this to happen.

P.S it does not matter if I am in a party ect, everyone is still the default skin.

Havent seen this before myself... could be an issue somewhere, but most everything is the same across servers.

Yes, I think I have worked out the problem, it is with actual minecraft.
Just skins do not show up when someone is in a party or town with me, their skin does not show up (unless their name is short like mine)

Sorry for making this thread as it is a known issue.

Yes, I think I have worked out the problem, it is with actual minecraft.
Just skins do not show up when someone is in a party or town with me, their skin does not show up (unless their name is short like mine)

It sounded like a different issue at first... I can't read every single post in all threads, though.

Skins showing up when hes on the server, I assumed he meant his own, with his short name.
