Crash on join

My friend and I are trying to join the server however every time we go to join we've crashed on joining.

Description of crash: Just freezes at joining screen

We've wiped our .minecraft folders and trying joining with a vanilla MC however we still crash.

Thank you for your time.

Edit: I'm getting reports that other users are having the same issue with other servers.
