Crafter leveling skills

I read in the patch notes about crafter leveling skills. How will these work? If I'm mining regular stone is it that there is a chance for something to drop? Or is it while mining iron or something there's a small percentage to get an extra drop or something.

Someone please inform me, thank you very much.

at the moment it gives a Chance for a random double drop depending on class level for the skill type (mining = iron/coal/redstone/etc double-drop possible) - for standard blocks like stone, it will give a chance to drop a special ore depending on your depth. Such as Coal when above 64 etc.
