Coordinates?

Can someone explain coordinates to me?

Think of the minecraft world as a grid. Each block has a specific location on this grid. Coordinates are usually made up of just the X and Z values which can be compared to the X and Y axis on a normal grid you'd see when doing things such as linear equations.

So if I say I am at -100, -200 I'd be at -100 on the X axis and -200 on the Z. So I would be 100 blocks north and 200 blocks east.

If I say I am at 100, 200, I'd be at 100 on the X axis and 200 on the Z. So I would be 100 blocks south and 200 blocks west.

Basically, coordinates are used to tell someone where on the minecraft grid something is located.

if you hit f3 you will see the coordinates, if you have reis minimap mod you can see them all the time and set waypoints
