Clarify Official Rules on Claiming

I have a few questions I would like to ask about claiming buildings:

-Rules say you must wait 30 days of inactivity then place a sign then wait 7 days then make a petition to claim an abandoned building with a sign on it. Is this still the rules?

-If this is the rule then what constitutes a "building". Would a square of dirt outlining a plot of land need to follow the 30 day rule
-How do you know how long someone has been inactive?
-Does claim signs only apply if they have a date on them?​

-If a building does not have a sign on it then is it fair game?

-if so how do I know that some random person did not come and take the sign and that there actually should have been one?​

• Yes it is still the rule
• A square outlining a tract of land is NOT a building and if nothing has been built there in a few weeks you can petition it for ownership. I have given away tracts of land along the spawn road with @Danda 's okay as they are not buildings and you cannot claim land
• I generally have Danda assist me with the log in information after the petition is created
• The claim sign you are posting with the intent to claim MUST have a date on it
• Generally no as someone could have taken down the sign, which is why we still ask that you post the intent to claim.
• You do not know but mods/admins can do an area search to see

I would read that as it tells you how to view your petitions, open or closed, and how to comment on them.
