Chest, Furnace, and Hopper Minecarts

I am just curious as to why these are disabled from being placed. If it is an exploit issue, can it be fixed?

I know these have been disabled for a very long time, but I have never heard anything as to why.

There was a huge glitch last map and people used these to exploit the glitch. That's probably why

Minecraft issue - it cannot be fixed - but people like 0xnaomi and unknownloner can weigh in and or test.

Hopper minecarts allow for all sorts of exploit jazz that isn't possible with hoppers because you can't, say, deny placing it under a chest.
Mind you, if events are used properly this shouldn't be an issue... but it could be and I'd rather not test every single scenario.
(On first thought you might be able to throw a hopper cart above a shop chest to toss junk items in it then report the owner...)
