If you have stockpiled gold ore, SELL IT NOW!
It is worthless now, since the changes. If you have any sell it now to shops that still buy it for a good price.

And delete your shops! I had 15 stacks of gold sold to my shop before I found out. Sold it to someone else :p

Cool. Thanks for the heads up. A weeks notice at least would have been nice for something this drastic to the economy. Just had everyone sell me 20k worth of gold ore and will be out 3k or more if I am ever able to sell it at the new price. Hopefully not everyone shared the same fate.

Does Smelt Iron for Miner intentionally have a higher cooldown and lower double chance than the one for Smith?

it's not worthless. It's worth less.
It still has value just not as much as previous.

Worthless or worth less, that's not the point. The fact is that many people just got screwed out of money because this happened out of the blue.

I will ask again as I did I gab's AMA, why was this major change to economy not announced before hand? A weeks notice would have not hurt the economy in any way. Instead, numerous people are out thousands of coin!

Luckily (for me) I managed to dump the gold ore everyone sold to me onto someone else (Sorry!). Lost some money in the process but it wasn't nearly as much as I would have lost if I had been stuck with the ores myself. I'll be using furnaces now; SmeltGold isn't even worth using anymore.

What about a temporary adjustment back to the previous % for say...a week? This would give some of the /money top players a chance to smelt all that gold ore everyone sold them.
