Suggestion Change Mark

Is there a way to make it impossible to Mark a place that a person doesn't have perms to, like a town or inside of a graveyard? That will keep towns from being camped as hard to the point where people may not want to play the game anymore. It will also give people less of a reward for exploiting into towns, and I don't care if you particularly don't exploit, it happens, we know it does.

A simple solution would be only allow a player to mark somewhere they have perms to.

Don't just disagree, give me a reason. Why should raiders ruin it for people just joining the game? That makes people quit and not come back. I'm sure people can see the faulty logic keeping this in play.

Ima add to your suggestion here:
Make mark to be gained a lvl 1. And leave recall at 10. This would allow people to set up a mark straight away, and be able to recall once they hit lvl 10. I think it would be nice for those who start new, to be able to at least know, they will have a place to recall back once they hit 10.

i agree with rick here. people could constantly keep pressure on a enemy town by having their recall there. such as a wizard with group teleport.

Give MARK (and only mark) to lvl 1 crafter. This would allow people to set up a mark straight away, and be able to recall once they hit lvl 10. I think it would be nice for those who start new, to be able to at least know, they will have a place to recall back once they hit 10.

This would be horrible... What if you place a mark in a town, then move to a different town, but can't move your mark? Change houses in the town you're in and want to move marks? Etc, etc..

How could you not move your mark? I dont see the problem with just moving mark to a lower level

Uhh... You said give it to a level one crafter only? Obviously people are going to level up, they aren't going to stay at level 1 crafter their whole time of playing.

He is saying lower mark to crafter lvl 1 and ONLY that skill.

Okay... nevermind. I thought you were talking about making mark ONLY available to crafters while they're level one and no-one else

There are many setbacks to setting ones mark in a different town. Not being able to recall to their own town is very annoying. However, if that person wants to lose that to mark in someone else's town, they should be able to do that. If you don't want your noobs to die, there are multiple solutions apart from what you have suggested. For example, have them hide inside buildings, or find out where the person marked and block it off, or kill the person every time they come. I think you should continue to be able to mark anywhere.

At one point in this map pretty much every LO town had someone who managed to get into our lower levels and set marks. It's a pain to get rid of, but not impossible, work together and dont feed them kills, they wont come back.

So wizards, who can Port, should be able to just show up, gtp a raiding party and have their way? I think not.

How about a middle grounds, where a class has a skill that can remove marks in a certain radius or at least detect marks in a certain radius?

Yes wizards should be able to show up and gto a raiding party and have their way. If there is a mark that is somewhere that you do not want it to be get rid of it or deal with it. This has happened to towns that i have been in and i have done this to other towns. You seem to forget that towns are not supposed to be inpenetrable fortresses, even though it is not in tnt was supposed to be able to blow up regions in order to allow for raiders to enter the town so yes entering other people's towns is something that is intended. Like i said before, do something about the mark or deal with people in your town.

It took a week, but we finally caught alexhoff in a room with lava!

Agreed, if you let a wizard inside your town long enough to mark then you should have to take responsibikity for your mistake. Aka isolate the mark or deal with people getting gtped into your base.
