Suggestion: Brewstand's Use flag is now restricted to Alchemist. Non-Alchemists would need a Hopper and a chest setup placed to input potions and output potions.

It is difficult to establish a market for Alchemist goods. The Cauldron and TransmuteOre recipes cannot be too strong, because the only real reagent for those is time or money to get the materials for the recipe, and if we made the recipe too strong people would just use it constantly.

Potion shops currently are having difficulty making money in the Trade District, despite near-constant advertising. @Nevinryal

By making Brewstands restricted not only in Placement but also in Use-Flag, it will bring them up to the standard that other Profession specific use-flag restrictions have (hoppers, enderchests, etc.).

A main reason the potion business isn't strong is because most towns have their own town Alchemist that stocks up the town potions so they don't need to purchase. If anything, make your town mates pay for potions. There is also the fact that Trade District isn't as strong as it was early in the map.

Another reason it's hard to make money is because in past few months new Alchemists kept undercutting others to the point where potions are barely any profit. I used to sell for at minimum 2.5s per potion and now they are worth 1s. From my experience, the price of the potion doesn't matter, the rate of customers is the same. :\

Guess again. It is because ANYONE can brew. Not everyone is in a town, not everyone uses their town's alchemist. But only idiots would pay for potions when they can just pay for a brewstand placement. That makes the only place to make money on Pots place of convenience where they cannot access their brewstand or do not want to recall, like the Nether or a Graveyard when they want to run back to a deathpile.

Potions can be worth 1s, but if everyone can brew them, no one buys them from shops.

When I was Alchemist, it was restricted so only Alchemists can brew I think. I know placing brewing stands was restricted. Not sure who decided to change this if it's true.

Might be because of hoppers beings able to be hooked up with them.
