Bug Boss mob (spider) 75% DR

All of my Necromancer spells were doing only 25% of their normal damage against a spider boss mob on Sanctuary just outside of spawn. I wanted to know if this was as intended. If so, why not just give it 14,000 hit points instead?

Giving the mobs mitigation to certain types of damage is intended - before they had 100% Mitigation to fire, now its at 20-25%.

A straight HP buff is rather dull - but if you make certain mobs have higher resists, it should promote more diverse parties, etc. While the mobs are still being tweaked will definitely look into it.

So this DR is magic-based? Or is it specifically against Necromancers (as it was affecting all Necro spells)? I didn't actually use physical damage against it, so I was unaware of whether it had physical damage DR. Also I was not in a group, so I didn't see whether fire, ice, healing-based, or other spells affected it the same way as my Necro spells.

I am unsure where to look with regard to a "boss manual" to identify how I should diversify my party, or if that is simply meant to be discovered and discussed through community collaboration. I understand boss mobs are in their infancy in many ways and that these are details that may be resolved in time.

There are many, MANY damage types in Heroes that go unused for the most part. It's more than physical/magical/fire/wither.

Yep ^ we should probably finally take advantage of the damage types - I wonder if its possible to make normal wep swings into a certain type of attack with custom items.

I kind of like the DR, but watching a Wizard be forced to melee them because it does more than their spells is depressing.

Yeah, as a wizard for a first class it's kinda hard for me to kill bosses, especially because of my generally lower health and defense as well as my lower physical dam.
