Book and sign mods

So I am looking around for mods that make it easier to write on signs and in books. What I really want is a notepad like interface. I wanted to know if this was allowed on the server at all?

Copy is a problem with minecraft itself as there is no selection natively. This would require client mods to add it.
You can already paste so no.

In order to edit previous text you need to delete everything up to that point then re-type it. I am not sure if this can be fixed by a client mod or a server mod.

We did have a sign edit mod a while back where you could edit an already placed sign but that was abused. I don't see us re-adding it unless those issues are fixed.
