Farmer, it does not require to mine or out, just stay at ur town and harvest.

I dunno. I've been a few of the professions, none really served any sort of advantage as a wizard. I liked to mine so both miner and alchemist were fine for me. smith is decent because you can repair your leather, and farmer is cool because you can make your own leather. so probably one of those 2 classes might be the best specifically for casters.

smith, you can carry leather around with you and repair your leather armor, you can also repair leather armor at a low level. You can buy leather for very cheap also, but farmer is good to because you can farm leather, but then you have to remake your armor all the time or get a smith to repair it for you.
