Bankers?

Just wondering since the wiki doesn't talk about this, what is the job and requirements of a "Banker".
I rarely see them on and was wondering what they do?

A Bankers responsibility is to exchange (Not sure if only) Town Bankers' gold for a higher coin cost, as to aid the township. This is also only to be used for township uses, to my understanding, not personal gain.

As a banker do you have to buy gold for 10c and sell for 10c at DHX or could you buy gold for say 9.5c and sell to DHX for 10c to make a profit?

Town bankers receive gold from that town's citizens, then go to the DHX, where a DHX Banker buys that gold for 10c. So,you don't use it for your own profit, and instead just exchange a town's gold for coin for that town.

Sorry if this doesn't make any sense.

Also, @Kainzo , it looks like there isn't a Banker app/info on the stickied thread in Staff Apps. Should this, and possibly all of them, be looked at to make sure they're up to date?

I thought that a Mayor/ SIC could just sell gold to DHX directly by using the chest-shop? Are the bankers there to do it for them or are Mayors/SIC not able to sell directly ?

Oh wait so the town mayor comes to DHX were a banker will be in the middle; the mayor puts gold in chest; Banker gives 10c per gold; Banker sells gold to DHX Shop for 10c to get money paid. Is this correct?

Yeah this is exactly correct, Banker is possibly the easiest role to fufil imo, however you must be trusted, it is easy to abuse the system

Can chest shops be placed around the map where other users sell gold at 9c and then could banker go to dhx and sell bought gold for 10c?

You can sell to dhx as a non banker for 6c generally people will pay you 9 for gold just ask in trade chat /ch t

Yes but as a banker can u own sign shops and make deals with non mayors for 9c and sell to dhx for10c. Is this aloud. And also u cannot buy gold from a anon mayor for 10c. Correct?

You cant buy gold from a non banker for 10c unless its outside of dhx. You can only make sign shops if your a crafter, if you have a sign shop set up outside off zeal than you could buy it for 9c and sell to dhx for 10 only if your, your towns banker

Bankers are allowed to buy gold then sell it to DHX. It's a perk of the job. Not sure what you mean by that last question.

Last i checked we could buy gold outside of DHX from non-town bankers, just not for the DHX price. But this only applies if you are a DHX banker that is also a town banker +

Ok so it is ok to buy gold for 9c from non town shops and sell to dhx for 10 c as long as we don't buy it for 10 c
