Bug Backpacks are a bit random

So I don't remember the exact times, but I recall HC being laggy enough where I lost connection at about 8:30 PM PST and then closed MC. I came back around 9:20 PM PST and soon found out that my backpack had 0 items in it. I relogged and the problem persisted, so I tried using some items in my regular inventory to swap with the items in the backpack to force an update if they were just invisible client-side, but this did nothing. As such, I am fairly certain that my backpack indeed was wiped, rather than a hiccup in the display.

What I had in my pack(to my knowledge):
-A carrot
-A crafting table
-some sticks
-some planks (or maybe they were sticks too)
-Some redstone stacks
-Some coal stacks
-A stack of iron ore
-1 near full condition normal dia pick
-1 <50 uses left normal dia pick
-3ish empty slots

I expected the backpacks to be a bit glitchy and/or not be happy with deathchest (since I do not have perms for doubledeathchest, items would assuredly spill over and I'm assuming regular inventory spaces takes precedence over backpack spaces). As such I lost little of import due to this bug and I consequently do not really need to be reimbursed. I just listed what I have as it's an additional piece of info.

Hoped this helped at least marginally, and I hope the bug is an easy fix, as right now I am a little hesitant about using my backpack for fear that it may eat my goodies. D:

Backpacks do not drop into Tombstones. They cannot be stolen from, reagents cannot be used in the backpack either.

If you were to die your backpack items would be gone.

Er woops, perhaps I was not clear. I meant that I put nothing of value in my backpack because I figured it did not work with deathchest. I did not, however, die. And the bug happened again, sometime yesterday morning when the server restarted (I think somewhere between 9 to 10 AM PST) my backpack wiped again.

I've had the same contents in my backpack the entire time.

It may be something to do with your permissions - are you a donor/whitelisted?

Below is your backpack.

Whitelisted - Yes to my knowledge, is there a definitive way to check? I do have build perms for Bastion.
Donor - No. I was just using up the last bits of a gift card to get the backpack, but I do plan to donate in the future. As it stands right now though -- no.

Indeed my backpack is blank since I've been reluctant to use it since the second wipe. I can keep some placeholder items in it though and mention when they're gone if that would be helpful at all. Relogging does not wipe it, I've only encountered problems when the server restarts; I am unsure if that holds consistently true as I have only noticeably experienced the bug twice insofar since my backpack is usually empty.

I've spoken to the developers and they stated they've had no reports of a backpack wipe since the plugin has been released 8 months ago.

I am reviewing your backpack perms vs donor perms now to ensure there are no issues.
You are the only person reporting this issue.

In either case, we do not reimburse items.

Backpack overflow seems to operate at random times. Sometimes when my inventory isn't even nearly full, items that I pick up go into the backpack instead of my inventory. I might find 2 dirt in the backpack when I have less than a stack of dirt in my inventory.

I've used smeltgold and have 30 ingots go into my inventory, the next 5 go into the backpack, and then they start going into the inventory again.

It makes it particularly tricky when you pick something up and expect to be able to use it immediately but then can't find it in your inventory... go hunting in the backpack and find it there...

Would it be possible for a player to be able to toggle both /backpack and /backpack overflow on and off?

I can honestly say I haven't had this problem(yet) but I have noticed it will kick in if I pick up more items than I have inventory space for and they all go into backpack

I know that Midnight_Storm67 and I have had some other problems with backpack. When we recall and we have a full backpack it all disappears or gets replaced with the items in your inventory.

Reporting this to Zidane / Developers :) keep the good feedback coming! - going to merge all other threads into this one.
