Auto Farms with Hoppers?

The general thing is that auto farms have been illegal because of all the entities that would lag the server.
What if someone had the drops pass over a hopper (now that they're reintroduced here) and then to fire (for those that make it, so they *don't* lag the server), would be become permissible or still no?

This would be a good post to place in the suggestion forum instead. You can tag an admin to move it over. Also expand a little bit on what your suggesting so its easier for people who aren't redstone savvy like me; to understand.
