Ever since the Arenas were pushed to live, we've had a MASSIVE amount of lag on the server.

I think Arenas rather need to be pushed back to test till a way to solve the lag is found, or removed and have HC stay the way pvp was.

The lag from Arenas normally isn't noticeable, besides spawning in the ground sometimes when you log in. (No damage is taken) The easiest place to notice this lag is in monsters as your out trying to level.

As you can see in that video.

1) I was nowhere NEAR any creeper when it exploded.

2) Mobs are teleporting, how can we do anything?

3) Damage towards the mobs, as seen with the skeletons, doesn't render for about 7 seconds.

I NEVER normally lag. Running around works PERFECTLY FINE for me. Even in other games like League of Legends, GW2, and such, my ping is normally VERY LOW. 43 at the worst when playing League.

I ran some Tracert's toward the Website and two server connections.

My Suggestion - Remove Areans until we have a lag fix. It's highly annoying that level 60's can now pvp as they wish, while us lower levels can't even level correctly because of them pvping.

If arenas are not the issue, can we get some information as to what COULD be the issue? all I know is it was never like this before Arenas.

EDIT - Also I'm happy to gather more evidence as anyone sees fit.

Mob teleporting is not caused by Server lag and neither is delayed damage. What you'd see from server lag is mobs not moving at all and the invuln timer lasting longer than normal.

Also your tracert shows connection problems to the server.
Comparing lag between games is pointless unless it's a bandwidth problem.

On a side note we've been running at 20tps all day.

I can confirm it isn't me. Playing League with a 42 ping currently.

Edit - Then maybe it's a case somewhere in the lines to the server? From what I know, it started after Arenas. Maybe it's a router somewhere thats messed up then.

EDIT 2 - After this league match, I'll reset my modem. If that doesn't clear it, I'll call ATT. I'm getting to the bottom of this. BTW - We need a Technical Support forum.

Running tracerts to the website or server means nothing.
BattleArena is taking up less than 0.5% of the cpu time and is only actually using cpu if an arena is on-going. It's a fact.

What you're noticing is possible MC 1.4.4 or 1.4.5 issues or
you're experience client or connection lag - we're running fine on this end.

Before we ever add a plugin, I do extensive tests and usually dive into the code to see whats happening, there is a reason why this plugin was on test server for more than two weeks before releasing it.
We will not be removing Arenas.
