If you wonder why gorefic is a thing, then you can ask why books that have gore in them are a thing. Fics are pretty much shorter version of books that are mostly free, written by amateurs. I have no problem reading or writing about gore.

gore can enhance a story, to show how vicious a wound is or something but should not be the main focus of a story. That is a sick perversity.

I read books for a story, not for descriptions of mangled bodies. :U Obviously it's an element in some works, but if that's the focus it's really unattractive to me.

That was the description of a battle, so of course there was gore. When writing normally, I dont have moments were like ''Little Tim were walking down the street AND SUDDENLY HE GETS HIT IN THE HEAD WITH A MACE FROM A DARK KNIGHT AND HIS HEAD GOES BOOM AND BRAIN PARTS AND BLOOD EVERYWHERE.''

Yes, but there was an excess. There is a fine line between enhancing a story and overdoing it. You crossed that line imo
