Thief currently has fade, but ninjas do not. This is intended, right?
I sincerely hope that it is not...

It wouldn't make sense for it to be this way really, either. While it makes sense that they could both have it, Ninja is the stealthier class. If Thief can have Fade, being less stealthy, I don't understand why Ninja wouldn't have it... Plus, at the bottom of the OP, it says Fade for Thief/Ninja, so I assume it's just not implemented for Ninja yet.

In a way, it actually DOES make sense. Think of it like this; ninjas are a more bursty, mobile class. They already have smoke, which is a mobile version of fade. Saying thieves are not stealthy is not true. In fact, I'd go as far to say that they are more stealth oriented than ninjas. As a ninja, you can run up to someone's face, garrote, eviscerate, blitz, what have you, whereas being a thief you can't do that. Being a thief requires you to plan where someone will be and avoid detection, or you'll never get backstab off.

Smoke isn't really like fade much at all, except that it hides you. It gives a message and is only used for escape/sneaking up on someone. Fade hides you completely, letting you stay completely out of sight without anyone knowing you were ever there. Thieves ARE stealthy, but Ninja is the more stealth class, I think. Granted, Thief needs to be a bit sneaky to use thievery, but backstab is just about as useful in a not-surprise fight as it is in a surprise fight. All you have to do is strafe around the person so you can see their back and use the skill. You might get more backstabs off in a surprise fight, but its not too much of an advantage. Also, a thief stands a much better chance at winning in a standard fight than a ninja does for various reasons (stamina, cd's, dps). Garrote is only possible when you are sneaking (the invisible part doesn't work), and it does very little damage and only silences for a second longer than kick. Thief has eviscerate too. Blitz isn't implemented yet... hard to say what it will actually be like when it is. Without the element of surprise on your side as a Ninja, you are very likely to lose a fight, whereas as a Thief, you are much more likely to win.

Either way, it was confirmed for both Ninja/Thief, so there's not really much to argue about, I think. I assume it's just not been added yet.
