CHAPTER ONE
The War Begins

The tall stone walls of Winterfell stood high into the night sky as pure snow fell upon the sandstone roads that held the feet of one man. The purple hair of the man hung to his ears as a long, tightly tied, ponytail reached his lower back. His hand rested lightly upon is sheathed crystal katana as he watched men in the distance approach the front gate. Two large stone towers sat beside the gatehouse with men armed with bows; men who did not live in Winterfell, but fought for its safety.

"Dielan and Green, hold your fire!" ordered the samurai, Victor, with a shout that carried up the hollow towers. Three men of the group of at least fifty approached the gate without fear, dressed in robes that resembled that of a tree trunk and masks that hid their faces. Amongst those features, they all had the same shade of leafy green hair that made them look like trees.

"What does the TC clan think they are doing opposing the kingdom of NEO? What does Thorn Hollow think they will gain from this?" questioned Victor with an obvious anger in his tone.

"We simply want to raid and kill for fun!" answered the man who claimed to be leader.

"You know I won't let you get any farther, so quit now Dmil," warned Victor, "You know I won't hesitate to cut you down now that you and your clan are no longer from Iron Pass."

"Shut it Victor!" retaliated Dmil's underling, Devon. Dmil quickly moved his hand to Devon's mouth to shut him up. "Be quiet Devon; now open these gates and let's have some fun!"

Victor closed his eyes and thought for a brief second. They had to get through Newerth to get here and the thought of Xanipher being hurt made him even more angered. It was hopeless to hold out against them, they needed to push through to help the capital!

"Open the gate," commanded Victor quietly

"But Victor!" complained Sage, a citizen of Winterfell.

"We need to push through and help Newerth out, no more words, let us win this battle in the name of the God of Violence, Brutal!"

Sage shook his head and picked up his sword and many other men in the town also took up arms. Slowly the solid wood gates rose up until they set in place in the gatehouse and without anymore words, two forces clashed in a sporadic battle.

Victor dashed forwards, unsheathing his katana and smashed blades with Dmil's crystal katana. Stepping back, Victor slid the blade back and moved past Dmil, making him step forwards. Stabbing a man that ran at him, Victor turned and parried his original enemies attack. Tension built up as the two pushed against the other waiting for the others strength to weaken. An arrow bolted down and Dmil jumped back dodging it, but crashed into another man, knocking him down. Dielan had shifted his aim towards Dmil, but as he moved back, he was too far into the gatehouse to be targeted by arrows.

The battlefield proved hard to fight upon, the tight squeeze on the road could only fit about three people wide, before becoming a crowded place. With the hundreds of men fighting, it was almost impossible to move without being hit. Except for the front bit of the gatehouse where the fighters had made a little more room for Victor and Dmil.

As Dmil caught his footing, he disappeared into a cloud of smoke that burst from his feet. The smoke quickly cleared and he was gone from sight. Victor frantically swung his head trying to gain vision of Dmil's whereabouts. As his vision became a blur, he noticed he was bleeding from his stomach and a blue sword was right through him. The crimson shine the moon gave the blood, gave comfort to Victor as he drifted to the cold, stained ground.

"Looks like we win!" cheered Dmil as his men made a loud roar of victory.

"Group heal!" casted a male figure from farther into the towns center. Everyone who was nearly dead on the side of Winterfell arose from defeat and back to good strength. Except Victor who still lay dead on the snow covered road, but the battle still had to go on. As Dmil's men started up fighting again, they slowly lost ground because of the energy wasted beforehand.

Out of fear of losing, Dmil charged forth through the crowd of men fighting and emerged to attack the healer. As he got close, Green let his bowstring loose and flung an arrow into his back, causing a minor gash. Dmil backed up a bit before moving forwards again.

The mysterious healer stood still, with no sign of concern on his face. As the blade of the crystal katana in Dmil's hand reached the throat of the man, Dmil stopped. Another ninja appeared and had stabbed him in the side.

"You should pay more attention, haha," laughed the ninja dressed in leather armor. As the sword was retracted from Dmil, he waltzed backwards in pain and grabbed his side.

"You b-bastard!" grunted Dmil in sheer pain. One of the men from before rushed to his aid and bandaged his wound before escorting him back through the crowd. The whole time the two mysterious men stood still and watched.

"Fall back!" yelled one of the men from the TC clan.

"Hurry revive Vic, Tom," rushed Sage.

"I'm on it haha," replied the healer known as Tom, "Revive!"

Slowly Victor sat back up and the ninja from before rushed to help him back to his feet. Victor smiled at the man and spoke, "Thanks Tom and Pineapple."

"Stop calling me that!" retaliated the ninja, Pineapple, as he dropped Victor to the ground again.

"But your nickname is better to use."

"Victor has a point, Pineapple," agreed Tom.

These two men are from the kingdom of KRS a kingdom so closely allied to NEO it is hard to tell them apart, besides the architecture. Dielan also happens to be from KRS.

Green and Dielan exited the towers and joined up with Victor and the others.

"They retreated down the road, probably back to Newerth. I say we heal up and gain our strength back before going to help," suggested Green.

"Thank you for helping us in this time of need, Green, I really appreciate it and I won't forget it, Orion is in my debt. As for the wait, just patch me up a bit, I can't let Xanipher be in danger any longer!"

"Well if you plan to go fighting so soon, sit your ass down and let me heal you up,"
After about five minutes, Victor had anything major, turned into minor wounds. Before words could be exchanged, he was off and a group of men followed behind. The walk took them nearly six hours before reaching the Eastern gate of Newerth. The gate was smashed and many dead bodies riddled the streets ahead of them. None of the bodies were Xanipher, but Victor showed heavy worries inside of his eyes. They moved slowly towards the town hall and no TC's were to be found, other than dead bodies of them from what looked to be a battle from a while ago.

The group stepped into the town hall, a beautiful sandstone structure with lava and water spiraling down the center. In either corner were shops, a message board and the panic room. There she was, Xanipher, in the panic room with Sense, Bear and Jack.

"Thank Kain you guys showed up!" greeted Jack as they opened the doors of the room, "They all left in a hurry about an hour ago, and by the shape you all are in it seems you must have drove them off."

Victor hardly paid any attention to his friend Jack as he rushed forwards to hug Xanipher. She is the Queen of NEO and Victor's sister, his only family on the plain of existence that is Herocraft, where as she aspired to become queen, he became the military leader and with both jobs it spread them apart. Even as children when they were born into Herocraft through the God known as Kainzo who is known as the Creator. All of mankind is of his creation and so is the land that they live on. Xanipher was one who got lucky and was chosen by the gods and given special powers. The powers existed only to help her live and because of them she gained the title of Xanipher the Star Child. Victor, being her twin brother, was unlucky because he showed no signs of having such powers.

Victor brushed back the tiara on Xanipher's head as he brushed her golden blond hair. She gave him a blank stare and pushed him away.

"Your acting like I was in any danger, the panic room is flawless because I built it that way," spoke Xanipher with her tongue out. She walked out and sat on the fountain's water side, "Don't worry about me so much, Victor, me and Bear both have the god's power in us."

"I know, but you are my only family and I can't afford to lose you."

"Hey I see some survivors headed over!" warned Sense, the mayor of Newerth.

Many scared and wounded citizens poured into the town hall and the sight was horrifying. Many were badly hurt and unarmed men and women.

Xanipher put on her serious, leader face and started to direct the men that followed Victor, "Tom, please heal as many of these guys as you can, Dielan, go to Shin Kyoto and get some healers and Green please do some tracking to make sure we are safe from a second wave."

As she walked back and forth, Victor collapsed from exhaustion."Hey Vic you ok!?" asked Bear as he moved to catch him. Lowering him to the red carpet of the town hall, Bear checked his heart beat, "He's fine, just worn out."

The next day, Victor awoke in Xanipher's bed to see Gabizou, the king of KRS and Darm, a citizen, healer and friend of Victor standing beside the bed.

"Hiya, Vic, you feeling any better," asked Darm. Patting his head and feeling his stomach, Victor realized he had bandages on him.

"Victor, I fear for KRS's safety in this matter. With both of our aspiring towns being so close by, the TC clan could very well attack us too and with Dielan, the mayor of Shin Kyoto, Tom and Pineapple helping you out, I think they may hold it against us as to why they lost that battle last night," explained Gabizou.

"I'm fine Darm, thanks and I know, that's why I'm going to go stop them in their town now."

"No, you need to rest and heal those wounds fully; I have your citizens fixing up Winterfell as the Newerth citizens fix up here. Buddah returned earlier this morning and he is out scouting for them now. We should have a location by the end of the day, but you need to be patient and just tell us about the battle so we can prepare," commanded Gabizou.

"Fine, but if they come back I'm out of here and helping! Either way, it happened like this: As the sun went down we saw smoke in the horizon and didn't think much, until Deseroth returned to Winterfell, wounded from selling gold in Newerth. We decided it best to wait for the attackers instead of walking into an ambush. Dielan and Green happened to be in town at the time and they helped set up for defense. Then from there when they showed up... And when we got here they had already fled. I'm not sure why they ran, but I think it had to do with Dmil's injury," explained Victor.

"Wow, seems like you guys had a handful!" spoke Darm with a smile on his face.

"Well if they show up we will all be ready now, but we should make plans to strike back and finish them off soon before they regroup," stated Gabizou.

Xanipher walked into the room with a bowl of cereal and handed it to Victor before speaking, "I thought I heard someone wake up, haha, how are you feeling?"

"I'm fine now, but I hate his having to wait thing."

"Just be patient, with time I'm sure you will find the girl of your dreams!"

"Not that! I mean revenge."

Darm and Gabizou giggled in the background over what Xanipher had said. She walked to the door and spoke again, "I am glad you are ok, brother."

CHAPTER TWO
The sworn allies of NEO

After four days had past, the kingdom of KRS felt an imminent strike on their town of Shin Kyoto. The wooden town hall of Shin Kyoto was filled beyond capacity with members of the KRS council. The chatter was immense with panic and scare; the officials wanted to know what would happen next after their allies suffered such a defeat. Gabizou stood at a podium ready to speak, trying his best not to cause any more panic. He cocked his hand up into the air and the noise slowly came to a halt. Then Gabizou carried his voice through the hall, "Our allies suffered a minor defeat in their capital of Newerth, but we must not worry, they drove the enemies back and are regrouping to come up with a plan of action!"

"What do the citizens of KRS have to do with this imminent war?" asked a worried citizen.

"As allies to NEO, we sent aid to Winterfell, our in-between town that acts as our military and theirs. They will want revenge for our interference, but we will not let them!"

"Why would you aid them against their own affairs?!" shouted another panicked citizen.

The chatter started to arise again and the hall became a mess of scared people.

"Calm down, it's just some raiders who got lucky, and with both of our forces together they can't beat us," assured a man standing in front of the entrance to the town hall, dressed in a green robe. He moved his way through the now silent crowd and joined Gabizou behind the podium.

"Now go back to your homes and wait until we can get a more definite plan of action!" ordered the man in dark green robes. The group was hesitant to leave and as they exited, one man still stood on the floor.

"How can you be sure they were just lucky?" asked the man in a quiet, slightly worried tone.

"We can't be sure, but in the past we have dealt with them easily."

"Rob here has joined with Victor and even Dago and Elm to take out their forces many times and when he and Tom are together, no one can beat their healing magic," assured Gabizou.

"I sure hope you are right."
The man walked out and Gabizou turned to Rob, "So what was the real reason you came here?"

"Dago and Elm want to join to help in the plans to stop Thorn Hollow and the TC's."

Rob walked to the window and glanced over to the two dragoons resting atop a roof with lances in hand and dressed in iron plate mail.

"I'm sure that we have enough man power, but something feels off, I say we use our connection to Iron Pass and Orion to get us some reinforcements," suggested Gabizou.

"I think I like that idea too."

Back in Newerth, Victor sat in town hall with Dielan and Bear as they discussed the future of this conflict.

"I honestly don't like how they are making Thorn Hollow in the old Kamete ruins; it pisses me off and makes me want their heads even more. Acars may have been an annoyance, but I feel he at least had some decency not to kill innocent lives, well at least before he joined Shiroku," confessed Victor.

"With Shiroku crumbling under the loss of Mak and Shorty and before that, Grey, they have nothing going for them in the war department. In the wake of this problem, Dan agreed to a temporary alliance though. Either way, we will crush the TC's for attacking us in such a force," explained Bear.

As the group conversed, Dielan jumped in, "I just hope we can break into the town with force alone; Acars left behind a decent barrier of magically infused glass, if they enhanced upon it we may have a problem getting inside."

"Yeah I know what you mean, but I'm sure we can get in, even if we have to trick them or even wait until they have to leave for food. Back to Shiroku though, didn't that guy who goes by the name of Toad end up with leadership?" questioned Victor.

"Yeah, but Dan still runs a town called Praxis which is under their kingdom," answered Bear.

Foot steps made their way forwards towards the three, as Buddah, a master ninja dressed all in black, approached with a report, "When I walked around, I noticed them using only one exit and entrance, but they seem to be building a few other domes as well. I was unable to get close, though I do think they have something protecting the glass dome they have in place or else they wouldn't keep it from back when Kamete stood there. Also, seems they want you over in Shin Kyoto, Vic, Gabi and Rob have some plans to discuss and some faces to show you."

"Well lets all go over, no use in staying if all the fun is up there."

Victor, Dielan, Bear and Buddah left Newerth and headed towards Shin Kyoto along the Southern road. After about a half an hour, they reached the East side of Shin Kyoto, and entered through a wooden gate. They then proceeded to walk towards the town hall, which was located in the middle, on a mountain, of the Japanese style town.

"I forgot to ask earlier, how has Iony been?" asked Victor as they neared the town hall.

Dielan replied, "She has been fine, if you look just to your left you can see our house." He pointed over to his log trimmed house with cloth walls, fitting an almost perfect Japanese style look.

"Nice house," complimented Bear as they finally swung open the door to town hall. Inside were Gabizou, Rob, Dago and Elm standing in wait.

"Welcome to Shin Kyoto," greeted Gabizou, "I would like you all to meet Dago and Elm."

Before they could exchange pleasantries, Dago cut in, "I would like to help in the plans to come and fight against this new threat if need be."

Victor scratched his head and made an idle shrug before replying, "We need all the help we can get and as you can see, I still have wounds I'm getting over. I think we need some more dragoons around here anyways." He smiled and eventually laughed in a friendly way.

"Thank you."

"As for the plan, how is NEO looking in terms of war?" asked Rob.

"It seems, Xani is trying her best to get things rebuilt in the town, but as for war, we try our best to be peaceful. We usually rely on Winterfell or our more combat hardened members to sort this out. I think with what they did, she will want it to be a war, no matter how peaceful we are," informed Bear.

"Well, I set Victor in charge of an army, he has experience with combat and the TC's so we can let him gather the men he will need," Gabizou practically knighted Victor in the way he spoke, but Victor only shook his head in agreement to the idea. Rob raised his hand to point Victor to his lead as he exited the town hall.

"I can show you around and point out members of interest if you wish," offered Rob.

"Yes that would be awesome, thanks."

The two set off towards the pond in the city; as they walked by towards the stairs to the pond, Iony was sweeping outside her shop. Trees lined the side of the hang just outside her stone walled shop, lined with logs.

"Hey, Iony," spoke both Rob and Victor at the same time.

"Hey, how's it going?" wondered Iony.

"Good, just showing Vic here some people that may be able to help out in the conflict."

Iony, twitched a bit out of anger. She noticed Victor was wearing no armor and had bandages showing from beneath his clothing and on his head.

"Where the hell is your armor! You wait right there!" demanded Iony as she walked into her shop. After a few seconds the sound of metal clinging emitted from the open shop doors. Iony lugged out a set of chain mail armor. It was an entire full suit of armor and she was putting a lot of effort just to hold it off the ground. Victor held his arms out and caught the mail.

"There, now you should be better off in combat!"

"Thanks, here have 40 coins," offered Victor.

"No you keep the money, just keep safe when you are in combat."

"I promise to return every time!"

Rob waved good bye and they headed left from the shop, down some stairs and to a pond surrounded by bamboo reeds. Three men were standing along the edge of the water. One carried a bow and quiver on his back, another had a staff with a blue gem on top and the last of the man, had a large, two handed claymore.

"Oh, why are you guys in town?" Rob interrogated.

"We came to visit and we heard something had happened to the kingdom of NEO," answered the man with a staff.

"Oh hey, you are a wizard!" exclaimed Victor in a bit of surprise.

"No, I'm Dom."

"But you are a wizard."

"No I'm-"

"Enough," interrupted the man with the giant sword in his Croatian accent, "I am Tex, Dom is Dom and that is Cybe over there with the bow."

"Well, let us continue on Victor we still have more to see."

"Alright, it was nice meeting you three."

Victor continued to follow Rob as they walked up some stairs then down another set. On the side of the path, was a man working inside of a hole in the ground. The hole had a lot of red like dust and the man was also covered from head to toe in it.

"What are you up to Dys?" asked Rob.

"Oh just fixing this damned gate line, the energy line is still not making it far enough and the defensive systems are a bit faulty," replied the man known as Dys, the mason of the town.

"Hey guys, what's up?" spoke a voice from above.

Victor looked up at the person and realized who it was, "Oh hey Pineapple."

"Stop calling me that! I have a name you know, its-"

"Hey I think I got it!" cheered Dys. Slowly the inner gate rose up and connected to the oak overhang that held it. Pineapple dropped from the rooftop and landed next the group.

Dielan approached from behind Victor and Rob and swung his arms around both. Startled, Victor jumped to see Dielan's smiling face.

"Hey I brought my brother with me to meet you guys. This is Disketa, he is a paladin," Dielan introduced his brother with a happy look on his face.

"We have a bit more to see, Vic."

The two continued heading left until they got to a bamboo garden and turned to head right. The bank stood on the left side of the gravel path. It was built into a small mountain with sandstone walls and blue and red carpet.

"Hey what are you guys up to?" questioned Tom as he walked out of the bank.

"Just showing Victor some people who can help out."

"Sounds like fun, I was just headed up to town hall to see Gabi, when your done you should come up, I heard KOE got hit just yesterday and Oran showed up just under an hour ago half dead," Tom revealed to them that something was wrong.

"The TC's couldn't have pulled that attack off..." pointed out Victor.

"Hurry lets get up to town hall and get this sorted out!" commanded Rob.

As they made their way up to the town hall, they met up with Dom, Cybe and Tex. No words were exchanged, but it was clear they too were curious. The doors slammed open to the town hall and Oran was there sitting on some stairs cut to pieces. Tex and the others rushed to him to aid him, while Tom healed his wounds. Meanwhile, Rob, Victor and Gabizou talked.

"Jericho attacked KOE while their main force was out of town," stated Gabizou before anyone got any words in.

"I see, so that means they will be here some time soon too," realized Rob.

"We also have reports of the TC's building siege machines, only reason they may need them is to attack our walls."

"Don't worry Gabi, we can handle one of them and I doubt TC would ever join forces with anyone."

"Yeah, but who is to say they won't take the attack as an opportunity?" asked Rob rhetorically.

Disketa burst into the room yelling, "The TC's are at one side of our walls and Jericho is at the other!"

"This early?" panicked Gabizou, "Hurry, get our men in place, no one enters town or leaves unless I say!"

Everyone stormed out and made preparations for the impending battle. As they ran around, a younger looking man made his way up to the town hall.

"Uh... Hello?" he greeted without vision of anyone.

"Hey, shouldn't you be helping?" Victor stood by the man and stared at him. After a few seconds of silence the man spoke again, "I'm Eivin, I'm looking for Victor..." he traveled his eyes downwards to the waist of Victor, where his katana rested.

"You are Victor!" cheered Eivin in joy, "I was told you can teach me the ways of a samurai!"

"Well, I can, but now is not the time to be focusing on training, we are under attack."

"I see, well please let me fight by your side."

"Just be careful not to get killed, Eivin."

Yet another out burst came from the entrance, "Hurry you two we need to go protect the eastern wall from the TC's!" Difusei showed up, another samurai.

"Yes let's get going," agreed Victor. The three rushed down to the walls, Gabizou was laughing manically as the catapults launched dynamite at the walls. Hardly any scratches formed from the explosions and the siege looked lost. Victor started laughing along with Gabizou as the attempt was very weak. Before either one needed to breathe in to laugh again, a chunk of the wall shook and crumbled to the ground. Gabizou started to cry for his wall he worked so hard on building. What was very strange was that the object used was not TNT, but hellstone.

"They are using hellstone!?" screamed Eivin in confusion.

Before any men moved to defend the wall from intruders, another hellstone rock came over head and sunk into Dielan's house.

From inside the house just a few minutes before, Dielan was gathering his armor, his bow and his two wolves, Thag and Firtha. He walked over to give Iony a kiss to ensure his safe return.

"Don't worry, I will return like I did last time," he spoke softly. Brushing the tears from her eyes, he leaned in to kiss her. The stone flew into the corner of his eye; clenching Iony he ran straight towards the balcony and the stone and jumped, spinning himself to brace the fall.

Victor ran to help them up, but before he made it, TC's had surrounded him, Difusei and Eivin. Luckily, Thag and Firtha had made it out through the bottom floor and they ran to the aid of Dielan and Iony.

"This is quickly looking bad for us..." stated Victor obviously.
