Class / Profession based recipe control.

This will allow Smiths to create ALL diamond armor but restrict others from doing so. It won't be a big change to what we have now - but we'll be able to have control of creating items / recipes now.

Code:
default:
  level: 1
  items:
    - '*'
example2:
  level: 1
  denied-items: [ 4 ]
swords:
  level: 1

I don't understand this at all...

EDIT: Kainey Edited his post, before there was no explanation, it was only the code box...

This is pretty cool IMO. There is a high need for all professions. Farmers - food and Smith - diamond items, ect. Very cool! :D

why not make diamond weapons blacksmith only as well? Diamond armor is nice, but not many classes use it anyway. Im not sure if just diamond armor is enough incentive for many to go blacksmith.

The thought process is to have DIAMOND and GOLD armor/weps SMITH only creating.

We could also put CAKE / some other food to farmer.

Anyone want to draft up a recipe thought process for this? :)

Making diamond weapons smith only would force you to either go smith or join a town. Anyone who planned on going lone wolf in the next map would either have to go smith or give up on their plans.

Interdependence isn't a bad thing. You could always just buy a couple or pick them up off of people you kill.
Players have the best drops.

This would make a stronger market. Anything that encourages player interaction a good thing.

You could buff by relativity engineers if you made them the only ones who could craft redstone torches. Though, that may be a bit extreme for some people.

I support this 100%. I really want to see the merchant portion of the game increase always. The more things that only certain classes can create, the more of an economy and trading system the game will have. Or at least a more diverse group of players per town/group since each town/group will require a wider range of classes to survive.

So wooo, more recipe restrictions. As for the whole lone wolf thing, if you want to be 100% alone then there is single player. This creates more role play for the lone wolf if they choose to try and play it. Rather than surviving by yourself 100%, you need to get what you can from your class, stock pile it, and make trading runs to towns for the supplies that you cannot get yourself. Trade logs for leather, iron ore for some tools, seeds for bread. It would be fun and interesting.

Anyway I am done talking, but woo for the restrictions. I like it. =D

Restricting the creation of pistons and repeaters to Engineers would be a very welcome addition. That way nobody makes tons and gets upset when they can't use them.

Someone make me a list of everything that are obvious for each profession (or class) and I'll see about working on the recipes for them.

It will increase the prices of items that were previously unsold, sounds logical in stimulating a larger server economy. I'm more worried about restricting cake.

No to fences. That's just silly. (I can't really explain why; I am just against it.)

Throwing eggs restricted to farmers?
