A while back I suggested that Rangers were OP because they could use iron swords. Kainzo then reduced their ability to that of a stone sword. I believe that perhaps they should only be able to use a wooden sword. Hence the "range." The only problem I see with my suggestion is that arrows DO lag. Perhaps there is a mod to help with this? Just throwing my two cents out there.

Another problem with your suggestion: anyone with Regions access would be spammed by region info every time they swing their wooden sword. I'm just sayin'

Ahh true that. Perhaps arrows can be used as a dagger of sorts? With a slight damage boost?

The use of the wooden sword as the region info tool dates back to the time when anyone could use any kind of sword, so wooden swords were never used in combat. I wonder if we can change the item that represents the tool.

In most other servers they've used string for region info. I believe it's the default item for it. I don't know though.

It is definitely string. But I don't think that rangers should get moved down to wooden swords. If you think, a rogue is meant to sneak up on people. Come from behind, and kill fast. But it's not as effective and useful to use a bow right next to the person, when u could nail them from behind. Stone sword already take a few hits to kill, so demoting to wooden would make the rangers powerless in close combat. Even if they "try" to avoid it, it's going to happen. We all know that.
I couldn't disagree more. I chose Rogue initially and leveled to 50. After two days as a Ranger I was sick of how unbearably weak I was in combat against virtually anything. The bow is utterly worthless on the server in it's current state. If anything, the Ranger needs a major buff, in the way of Iron Swords or a Dragoon-like jump ability. Track is only useful if you can actually KILL your target, and in it's current state, the Ranger class has little to offer in that area.

WHY? Why are you complaining about rangers being op. YOUR A NINJA. Ninjas can destroy rangers easy peasy. If anything rangers need to be buffed.
