Minecraft 1.7 is scheduled for 10/25! - all clients can connect on 1.7 at the moment.
Just wanted to drop a line to you guys and let you know what's going on.

Our Minecraft server will be updating to MC1.7 hopefully 1-2 weeks after release. This particular update will change a lot of internal things most importantly it will allow us to have a better world generation so it's more seamless to the users. We will be expanding all world's significantly to account for these changes. Some worlds may be completely regenerated (Nether)

Make sure to stay on 1.6.4 until we announce to update - several things will need to be worked on to prep for 1.7

We're still working on the Adventure map update, custom items and balancing classes/attributes. Expect more updates soon!
  • Haven Expansion (5000R)
  • Server to Server Heroes (PVE/Minigames)
  • Website Stats/Leaderboards
  • New Classes!
  • New Items
  • Quests (@danda/@Xexorian)

Are the new classes going to be in addition to the current 16 specs or will they replace existing classes?

And will the new classes be linked to one of the four thematic paths ie warrior, rogue etc?

Sweet! Read up on the bit of the update, sounds neat! Looking forward to the 1.7 update more now.

-The reason that "base classes" where removed is so that adding classed could be easier (since you wouldn't have to release 4 classes at once)
-They will not replace any classes
-While future ones may not, the new classes are thematically: Healer (Shaman), Warrior (Samurai), Rogue (Dancer), and Mage (Melonmancer)

  • Have been added to the mix of low light-level hostile mobs, now spawning anywhere where the light level is below 7, including at night in every biome and in caverns
    • They usually spawn in pairs
    • They have roughly the same spawn rate as the Enderman
Yay for slightly increased enemy diversity lol. Also, creepers can be ignited with flint & steel. Set them up the bomb O_O.

This makes me just a little nervous :eek:. We've already had one misunderstanding in our town with a player saying he wanted to keep a witch as a pet and other people thinking he meant me ...

This is not the case.
The base paths may be back for adventure map - but we're unsure.

We are still holding the "4 paths" true, 5 paths if you include crafter ;)

-Keeping the base paths for the adventure maps sounds nice
-When I said the paths where removed, I meant in the way that you start off as lostsoul. Now that you only need to master one base class, there won't be a problem where one base class has more specialization to choose from.
