Linux all the way.

Its like driving a manual car. Most people don't care and are content driving an automatic, but they will never know complete control

though I do boot into Windows for some games, not that bad. Once Windows goes all cloud/subscription all the time pc gaming on Linux should skyrocket.

Good analogy. However I know from experience that java conflicts with the majority of Linux kernel's. The result is about 50-70% reduction in performance for java based games like Minecraft. Most other games work well, even windows based games if you have the right compatibility layer.

Java based games are cancer

Mac is good for security though- great for almost everything, but not too good for heavy gaming. Linux is ok-good at everything, making it a nice computer to just have.

*Remember the worldwide virus was spread by Microsoft, so I specifically don't trust them*

I've never been a fan of the value vs price ratio of apple products, but a few friends of mine built hackintoshes and they are pretty legit.

I use Windows, but prefer Linux. Unfortunately my mom isn't willing to be changing up her computer, so once I'm out or get one of my own, hello Linux

Mac's are far more advanced and more responsive for doing tasks like producing music, graphics production or just browsing the web. If this is all you need, buy a Mac.
If you want to game more and don't mind not a having a computer that is built for simplicity and the above things. A PC is probably a better choice.
If you feel you have a good knowledge about computers, and want ease of customisation. Then a Linux is good, they are powerful and extremely simple to alter.

Whatever suits your needs. I have a Macbook Pro 2012 13" laptop, it runs minecraft at solid 60-70fps and is great for doing school things and graphics stuff. :D Enjoy your machine
