I was wondering if someone locked a chest for me, that was in my town then took everything and left if it would be considered legal or not. Since its their LWC, but my money and chest. No confirmation in trade either.

Without the confirmation in trade, and as long as they didn't exploit to open the chest, it's legal. You let people gain access to your stuff without making a binding deal in trade chat.

While legal under server rules, you can talk to your town manager and they can receive punishment via town.
