Backpacks gone?

just logined in and backpacks were gone. can anyone tell me the reason for the change? Furthermore I have a few questions.
1. Is there going to be some compensation?
2. Why were they removed?
3. Will they ever be coming back?

Update: We've temp removed backpack purchases (and abilities in game) while the plugin is patched. There are some extreme bugs that will cause users to lose items and we are trying to fix it - the packages will be re-enabled when 2.0 is released! The ETA is 5-7 days for 2.0

Per the terms and agreements of using the Store - we reserve the right to remove features when/where is needed. Backpacks 2.0 is coming in a week or so.
