It's a real kick-ass strategy game where you command a 'galactic empire' across a litterally infinite universe. You got three nations that specialize in different game mechanics, like colonizing planets, traveling through 'phase space', or fucking everyone over with cultural domination. I've only recently got back into after a while, and since no one ever plays the game anymore I was wondering if any Herocraft peeps have ever tried it before. Maybe even play it sometime! For reals tho, it's a sick game not only for the extreme real time environment, but it also has some boss graphics and effects. There's an enhancement mod for the game called Distant Stars and it is one of the reasons I got back into it. It increases fleet size and map size while decreasing the lag and adding some real nice particle effects. It adds a lot of new planets too that drastically change the field of play. If you want to catch a game with me I got 'Diplomacy v1.34' <--- get that! Get the mod too, it's too amazing to play without it! (Also, there is an achievement called 'Space Ponies'. No idea what it is, but hey: ponies.)
I tried it, but it proved to be far too complicated for me. I simply did not feel patient enough to deal with the learning curve.
If you don't like learning curves I do not suggest you play it, i've been playing for half a year and still am trying to figure out how it works xD
hahaha, I don't think I'm going to touch Dwarf Fortress anytime soon. My willingness to follow the learning curve usually depends on the type of game.
