How is this RP?

So I have been playing greylisted for 2 days, somebody destroyed my underground base, changed my sign which said "Vitaefinis' Den, Please Do Not Destroy" to "TROLOLOLO STOLE ALL UR STUFF". I said OK, I will wait until I get whitelisted then I can play in peace in Bastion. Today I was building a house, minding my own business and a high level caster just comes and starts hitting me with spells. I died of course and my 2 days of hard work is gone (diamond swords, iron and coal stacks etc.). I don't really care I lost this stuff but how is this roleplaying? Some high level guy comes and kills a low level who was building house without even saying anything. These things should be roleplayed in a roleplay server you know? Anyway, I liked the server very much but I won't play in a server where they advertise it as a RP server then some guy just kills me without reason or talking.
I know the regular players will just say "QQ moar" and things like that but honestly I don't care. Goodbye forever.

This is Semi-RP where it is excepted to roleplay, but is more RPG in the aspect you play with levels, stats and the like. It is also labeled "Hardcore" to which it is supposed to be ballsmashingly difficult. (While max level players really just roll over everything tbh)

What happened to you was why towns exist though, lone-wolfing it is extremely hard and not advised of new players. Join a town and learn the game.

The misconception is that this server is a RP server. It is an RPG server, much like Final Fantasy with classes and levels. The server is advertised as a RPG server, not a RP server, although some people do indeed role play here.

One of the annoying things is that now adays everyone is kos. Everyone is kos for me but a lot of people who are "good" dont really even care.

I see people RPing every day. They RP their classes, they RP their town politics. This is "real" for several people.

It may not be "thou art dead" type stuff, but its very much "in role"

If you're looking for strict guidelines and censorship - you won't find it here when it comes to gameplay.

How do you get "strict guidelines and censorship" from what I wrote? I just didn't want to play counter strike in minecraft.

because in order to properly enforce "RP" - you have to have strict guidelines and censorship. Muting people who ruin RP events, etc/etc.

I agree with you though, If I want to PVP I generally do it in a different game that was originally created for PVP not one that had one as after thought.

Look, don't be so quick to give up. Yeah you've had it hard but its these things that will make you stronger and make you more determined. The trouble is, all the PVPers think they have something to prove and they'll quite happily kill you without second thought. These traits make them "Evil" not in person but in character.

I suggest you rise up above them, be better than them, choose to be a "good" player and you will find plenty of support.

Soon there will be a karma system in-place, which will make it easier to spot who is on who's side.

Hope you give it another shot, you'll learn - we're not all "Evil" players.

You play your role - and many people do. Many people "roleplay" their towns / classes. They just dont go as far as to be outrageously nerdy and start speaking with "thou art".

Open-world combat/pvp has nothing to do with "role playing" - you are misinformed.

People take it seriously, they get into the game/server and they have fun. I'm hoping the new karma system further enforces this ;)
